I applied to HRI to better myself for a promising future.

Can you recall how you felt on your first day?
On my first day, I felt overwhelmed.

How has your career evolved over the last 40 years? (Career Changes: promotions, technology updates, etc..)
Within my career journey, I started out as a Laborer and then became a Foreman.

What was your favorite project/position that you had the opportunity to work on?
My favorite project was Boot Jack Mountain.

How has the company culture changed over the years?
Over the years, the company culture has changed in terms of safety.

How has our safety culture evolved over the course of your career?
Over the course of my career, the safety culture has improved through the employee’s mindset and the equipment that we use.

What does it mean/how has it affected you/your job to be a part of a culture that puts such a huge emphasis on safety?
Being a part of a company that puts a huge emphasis on safety makes me feel good as they make sure every crew member goes home safe at night.

Who have been your biggest influencers within Barrett/HRI?
My biggest influencer has been Bryan Brungart

What advice would you give the past YOU on his/her first day?
The advice that I would give my past self on my first would be, “Be aware of your surroundings. SAFETY FIRST!”

What has been your proudest/most memorable moment or milestone in your career?
One milestone in my career would be my 40 years of service at HRI.
