2019 Charity of the Year: Golisano Children’s Hospital/The Upstate Foundation
Each year, the Barrett NYC Region selects a local charity to fundraise for at our Annual Kick-Off Meeting, Open House, and various other events throughout the season. The 2019 charity of choice is Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Golisano/The Upstate Foundation offers healing and hope to children and families all over central New York. Their mission is to provide world-class healthcare to the 450,000 families in our region by providing safe, effective, innovative and family-centered care. As the Region’s only Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Upstate offers a complete range of health care services for children from birth to 19 years of age. They care for children in a vast 17-county region, plus parts of Pennsylvania and Vermont. They have over 100,000 pediatric visits per year, and the facility is made up of 71 Pediatric Beds: 44 medical/surgical, 15 pediatric intensive care and 12 hematology/oncology beds. Their excellence in clinical care, community outreach, research, and education makes it possible to provide our community with the highest level of quality healthcare for all of our children. We are proud to announce that we raised $2,050 just in our two days of fundraising at our annual Kick-Off Meeting and we were so excited to deliver our donation on behalf of the entire Region. The foundation was more than grateful. We look forward to partnering with Golisano for the remainder of the season, as these kinds of gifts are a vital part of their success! Thank you so much to everyone who already donated and please know that your contributions will be helping so many children in our area!
If anyone outside of the New York Central Region would like to make a donation, please contact Heather Schmidtka – Human Resources Manager.
